Once Upon a Time…

There was a lost 19-year-old who paid all his attention and energy to the wrong things. He spent majority of his time on social media, parties and endless destructive habits. Which I will not mention, because there might be some kids reading.

His Life Was Going Downhill…

As his troubled state of mind absorbed him more and more. He got dumbed by his girlfriend. And due to excess partying he was failing to keep his job. Even some of his family members thought he will end up in jail. As it was well expected. Because he had no control over his impulses, no understanding of himself, and he certainly had no idea who he wanted to become. (Plus, his barber hated him.)

But There Was Hope…

Because, no matter how big was the mountain of insecurities or how dark the abyss of fears, there was always a sprinkle of hope. Somewhere deep in his mind, he could hear a call for a better life. Which he heard once a day, everyday. Yet with endless distractions, it was all too easy to close his eyes and ignore it.

Until One Day…

When he finally listened to the hope. He heard it loud and clearly. As he quickly understood that if he wants a better life for himself and his future family, he has to go out there and create it himself. Because nobody else will do it for him.

He Went Out There…

And slowly, he picked up new habits and interests one by one. He began with reading books about investments, mindset, and psychology—a lot of psychology. He became obsessed with understanding himself and the people around him. Seeing the positive changes in his thinking, he promised himself to never stop learning for the rest of his life!

Then He Moved On To…

Journaling and Meditations. Which allowed him to finally get to know himself. These practices showed him a more calmer and present version of him. He learned how to control his emotions and not react upon impulses. Suddenly, destructive urges lost their power, and he was able to take back the steering wheel of his life and dreams!

And With All This Self-Control…

Alongside came a desire to push himself to the maximum—not only mentally but also physically. He began working out consistently, even stretching his regimen to six times a week. This was when he added physical exercise to his lifelong promises. Within a couple of years, the problem of finding the discipline to go to the gym turned into the challenge of saying 'no' to the gym, when there are plenty of tasks on the to-do list.

As He Progressed…

He learned how to step out of his comfort zone, and within a couple of years, he managed to dip his toes into many areas of interest. This exploration taught him priceless lessons about life, business, marketing, writing, and entertainment. Despite the diversity of his passions, they all shared one thing in common—the ability to express himself creatively.

At First He Started With…

Graphic Design. In which he learned how to study a craft on his own without anyone looking over his back. He dedicated a full year to understand the deep and unconscious design principles. He learned how to use the most popular graphic design softwares, which allowed him to twist his creativity muscles like never before. With this experience, he earned multiple online certificates and developed a better visual understanding in everything that he saw, wrote and wore.

After His Interests Turned to…

"Stand-Up Comedy. This is where he learned to become one with the craft. In the span of a year, he performed at over 100 open mics, hosted several events, and landed three opportunities to perform at venues outside regular bars. He overcame embarrassment, as his first ten open mics didn’t get a single laugh. He learned how to capture and hold the audience’s attention and saw how subtle details can make or break an entire performance.

Later He Leaned Into…

Video Editing. Where he used the previously earned skill of attention grabbing and visual appeal to create entertaining videos for people online. He learned about algorithms, data analysis, social media and fully emerged himself in script-writing to create unique, never seen before content.

And Then He Found…

Copywriting. Which, with its broad amount of information, excited his hunger for new knowledge. Copywriting combined all the skills that he had acquired in the previous four years. And even though it was an advantage for him, he still had to work hard to get good at it. He became completely obsessed with copywriting and implemented it into his life—with the courses that he took, podcasts that he listened to, books that he read, and people that he talked to. His life was changed forever, and looking back at his 19-year-old self, he feels grateful that he took the first step, believed in himself, and kept going. No matter the challenges that he encountered and will encounter in the future, the little voice that made him take action is still there. And he hears it louder than ever before—all day, every day.
